Genetically modified plants in Austria

As of the 1st of July 2006, there has been no commercial cultivation of GM plant varieties in Austria, according to the Austrian register for GMOs.

The JRC database lists three deliberate releases for field trials with genetically modified maize and genetically modified potatoes in Austria. The experiments took place in 1996 and 1997.
